  • x-gen360 printer from x-press – any good?

I think we are definitely going down the road of buying a printer for business cards, flyer’s, wedding stationary etc, we have been looking at the cp2000, and Chris Wool has already given us some good advice about that, another one we are looking at is the x-gen360 from xpress, which looks to me that you start with a basic unit and as you grow you can add to it. We are also going to need a business card cutter, it seems you can get these for about 3-4 hundred pounds are these any good, or do I need to get something like the Uchida BC 10 which can also crease card, are these any good, as they cost almost as much as the printers, this going to a 5-6 grand investment and just want to get the best possible value money.
Any import on this would be greatly appreciated
    Mart.

dreadful piece of kit they are selling it has near litho quality, went upto their suite a few weeks ago with a litho printer and tried to match some prints of my old xerox dc12. the sales guy was red n the face and admitted at very best these were only entry level machines.

its an oki engine the same being badged as an xante iluminia the consumambles are about £1200 & vat every time it needs repleneshing.

awful at very best only an office colour photocopier with postscript software.

my old 2001 xerox dc12 knocked spots off it, none of my customers would purchase digital print that come off it, totally wrong colours, fleshtones like a ghost and screening you can see with the naked eye.

wouldnt recommend anyone to buy a digtal without a page contact they reach 1000.s of degrees for split second and need a lot of servicing and parts if you are planning to put a lot of work through it

stay well clear of the x-gen (OKI office copier!!!)

i have two dc12,s sometimes troublesome but i only pay £100 a month each on a lease and 6p a copy not sure if i can say where i lease them from. but boy do they make me some money no six grand outlay either.

i am having training to repair these machines as well and hope to put myself out as a nationwide machine engineer 2 days a week after christmas (not sure if i can say this though – site rules?)

as for a guillitone i have the same electric cutter as chris basic but does the job cost me a few hundred pounds – bought new last year still no probs cuts every time!
