Wraps and vehicle graphics March 2012
Posted by Mo Gillis-Coates on 10 April 2012 at 09:20Hi Guys, I have never really posted much in here but we seem to be doing some work now that I’m reasonable proud of.
I guess artistic restraints from clients on designs mean that we never have completely free artistic license on a job, so would we ever be completely satisfied with our own work?
However, there is one job here I am completely satisfied with, We had free licence on the Drag Car as it’s a sponsorship for us. With the exception of the company font, and the choice of color and 2 image graphics, the rest is down to my own personal taste.
I was just told the colour and what type of images where wanted, apart from that it was "fill your boots" time
Anyway, here is our March selection

Yep – cracking stuff Mo. I like the homeless one, but agree with what you say about plastering the stickers on afterwards – sometimes less is more. Also the Cinders Sweep van – smart and will certainly catch the public’s eye.
Nice stuff!

Great stuff Mo! What material did you print the flag on? I have just done seven of those and tried all sorts of materials, and found IP 2313 textile PES banner to be the best print and the least transparent.

quote Harry Cleary:Good stuff Mo….love the green one.
cheers Harry, wish we could say the same..lol we love the design and the finished product but that job was just pure hell from start to finish.
Mostly down to material choice and some basic template errors…

Dan, you will never believe it, but we used a really lightweight mesh banner, two pieces and stuck together back to back.
We also supplied a lightweight flag material which was smaller only 900x 4000 for windy days but that was only single sided.
Everywhere I go everyone raves about sublimation for flags….. But I can only imagine the size of the heat press required for that size flag and I cant get my head around a dedicated sublimation wide format printer that big….

Great work Mo, love the Drag car and the green van.
I agree with you on the homeless livery.
Keep it up mate.

The purple car, man did you choose to use Brush Script?
And if you did, why did you not connect the letters?
That and using two scripts on the same layout really bugs me.
I would have chosen something easier to read.
(couldn’t help saying it, sorry if this offends)
The other stuff is just fine.
I agree about the text wrecking the picture.
Love…..Jill -

Love the Junior dragster! an old mate of mine used to have one which is 14yr old daughter raced for a few years, great fun but, I couldn’t get in one – well, I squeezed in one but it took three people tugging on various corners, and someone to choc the wheels before I slid out!
Like the green van too btw.
