Wrapping a 3.5t izuzu graft cab – advice needed, please?
Hi
A customer has asked if I could wrap the cab of his new Izuzu graft, I’m not sure at this stage whether he wants a colour change or a printed wrap.
I’ve done partial wraps for years on Scania and Volvo cabs using both polymetric and later wrapping vinyls from Avery, Oracal and Hexis so I have limited experience but how hard would a full cab of pickup be?I know all the trim and badges etc would need to come off but they do look to be reasonably flat with no silly deep recesses and they are not huge like a Volvo or Scania cab.
Has anyone here done one? Any advise or just plain don’t do it?Also how long can a wrap realistically be expected to look good? I’ve seen old colour change wraps with vinyls like matt black that have been hanging off the car at the edges etc but I’ve not known what grade of vinyl has been used or how old the job was, I also presume things have moved on.
Some of the Scania cabs I’ve done are over 6 years old and while the paint and vinyl has been faded by the acid wash the vinyl looks reasonable but there are no overlaps or window rubbers involved and I could usually get the vinyl around the edge.I suspect that a colour change wrap would last better than a printed wrap due to better fade resistance of full colour vinyl and no extra layer of laminate.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Steve
