  • would Roland versacamm sp300i service cure my problems ?

Posted by Danny Miller on 30 December 2013 at 20:19

Hi i had my versacamm for around a month and i’m having some teething problems, my print and cut jobs can often print a little blurry, with some tiny dots through the print and sometimes my cuts are also off making me have to use larger strokes for my bleed in adobe ill. would manuel cleaning help my print quality ? or as i got the machine used should i just get a full service ?

Sorry for all the questions, new to this side of things

Have you cleaned it yet? E.g full head clean and replaced the wiper blades?

Have a look in the Manuel on how to do a manual clean. I think it’s under maintenance. I do it weekly on my vs.

Why did the seller not give you training on how to do this?
I have my vs around six months. I had a half a days training on the day of install and was supposed to get another full days training but I’ve been to busy to get them back.
In fairness to them they ring every couple of weeks to see if I’m available for Day.
Also not to mention the days training Im also due in the Roland academy.

Hi i got it from a person who had little knowledge of the machine, so i’m kind of alone when it comes to support but as for the manuel clean, i have watched a video on youtube which seems easy enough , so i will order some cleaning fluid and give it a go

Can any recommend somebody in essex to service the machine if the manuel clean does not help ?

You need to be very careful when you clean the heads. You would need some training first otherwise you may end up with a £2K+ bill.

It would definitely benefit from a manual clean and new wipers. The wiper deform in time and sometimes miss the heads completely!!

A service will always be worthwhile on any printer. Particularly if you get one of the ‘good guys’ to come and do it for you. They’ll often give you a few helpful pointers which is worth it’s weight in pound notes.

Where in the country are you? I might be able to recommend an engineer in your area.

I have just brought a second user VP300 and had a little drop out on the black head, do print test pattern to see

I brought a head cleaning kit, there are some great you tube vids on how to do it. After the manual clean my black head came back life with no dropout at all.

The manual has also about 8 different procedures you can go through for calibration so that should also help

Ah, a local boy then. I’m Gillingham in Kent and the office is in Epping 🙂 JDM Services covers your area too. He’s not back to work until the 6th though. Let me know your details and I’ll forward them on to him when I speak to him.
