  • Windows 7 & dongel problem

    Hi All,

We got a new computer with Windows 7 on it (a Dell) last week and I installed my Signblazer software onto it. I use a dongel key for it as I also use it on a laptop.
I installed it, and everything was working fine. But now it won’t recognise the dongel key anymore?!?!When I start up, it tells me that it can’t find the key…. I am using the right port (there are only two at the front of the computer).

Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

    Any help appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Angelique – is it a Rainbow (Sentinel) dongle? – if so you may need to update the drivers for your port from their web site ( we have Graphix Advantage and as they changed to Omega after Win 98 we have to load the appropriate drivers for whichever OS to get the dongle recognised and the program working…albeit with bugs)

    Cheers

I don’t know what kind of dongel it is.. there is no name on it, just a label saying S.B Hotshot (the software).
I am just confused as it worked perfectly initially 😮

Windows do an automatic update on the 2nd Tuesday of every month,
if you have auto updates turned on, it is possible that windows change something in it’s system that could have caused your problem also you say you have the program on a laptop have you tried that to make sure that it’s no the dongle

some dongles light up when they are in use.

i thought the system restore/windows update must have done something, I couldn’t think of anything else.

Yep… mine lights up… So if it was the windows update… what do I do? Re-install?

No Go into programs accessories, System Tools and then find system restore go back to a point when you knew the dongle was working and try that
