    Hi,

Do any of you know the best way to do a window sign like the one in the attached window?

    I have a graphtec CE5000 – 60cm.

I was looking at cutting the text out of a red film, but I would be butting the films up to each other, which could leave potential for a visible line where they join. Also I don’t know if the join may become a gap due to shrinkage in future.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

Hexis do a film that gives that effect. I used it about 11 years ago so you’d need to contact them to find out what it’s called.

    Tip for butt joins.

Install the films with an overlap.

Then take a ruler and cut through both films where the overlap and remove the excess where they overlap then lift up the other edge and remove the other piece of vinyl then put it back down. Be easier if this is done wet too.
