William Smiths Vion 5100 issues
I am having some issues with William Smiths Vion 5100 material.
This is the latest update of their Vion 5000 print material.
I tried this material when it first came out and it was brilliant for short term vehicle prints etc and had a super glossy laminate.
But I ran into all sorts of adhering issues and de lamination problems when I ordered my second and third roll/kit.
It was as if the material had been changed for something completely different than what was originally supplied!
This was changed for a similar Arlon product.
On ordering the current batch of material I had been told that all the issues with the 5000 material had been rectified and was now 5100 in designation.
I have had very little physical use of the material till the last 2 weeks and to say I am not impressed, is a gross understatement.
The material almost feels as if it has very little adhesive properties and seems to be very easily peeled of panels.
I had a vehicle in last week with some graphics printed on this material and in under a week these are lifting. On a further note I ham having laminating issues on our easymount laminator.
When laminating over a 3 metre length the material is creasing. This is been caused due to the print material sliding on the bottom roller due to how shiny/silicon the lower part of the silicon paper is.I have been advised by William Smith that they have had no other issues but I am trying to see if this is the case or not?
