  • will vinyl melt on brake calipers?

Posted by Paul Humble on 14 May 2008 at 11:20

Ive been asked to do a bit of a weird job and I’m not sure if its possible.

A guy want me to do some Type R graphics to fit to his brake calipers which he then wants to lacquer over the top of.

Apparently he has had it done in the past.

Wont the vinyl just melt under the heat or am I missing something?

If its a single colour, why not make a stencil and use engine/exhaust paint?

I had suggested painting but he specified decals.
