hi all i have been asked to tint some windows but its not an easy one

first i don’t want to use tint can i get a translucent vinyl but very dark and also need to be applied outside of window as the window has security bars welded to inside making it impossible to fit from inside
if i have to use tint where can i get approx 6 meters
any help on this or the best way to do it would be very helpful
    thanks rich

you can use a transparent coloured vinyl rich. europoint certainly sold it a while back because i had some samples sent. not sure if they still do it though… another i have used in past was mactac and X-film the X-film range i didnt like much. vinyl was pretty thick and adhesive was gummy.

when you order be very clear that you do NOT want translucent, it MUST be coloured transparent vinyl film. take the darkest shade because it becomes very light when sun hits it.
transparent coloured vinyl has a life of about 2-3 years south facing. i think that will be UV stability.

vinyl and tint are very differnt, tint is a polyester film. if anything like stained glass film it will be made up of several layers, infact upto ten layers. top few will be UV stability films protecting the colour/tint.

You can get tint/film that is what they class as outside weatherable, ie to be applied on the outside of the glass.

If you contact Bekaert Specialty Films, ask for Steve Belfort, 01905-640400. They are not the cheapest but probably supply the best quality of flat glass film.
