  • why wont the Pcut630 with firmware 4.20 not cut properly?

I have a Pcut630 with firmware 4.20 and i cannot get any software to make it cut.

I have tried Flexisign and Cibercut downloaded updated drivers but still the cutter stays still.

Can do test cut though, little small rectangles which would make good page markers but thats about it

I have set baud rate to 9600 have used standard com cable with 9 – 25 pin convertor i have also used a usb to 25pin serial convertor, i get the same result each time.

i have changed the flow control settings to hardware, Xon Xoff and noneadusted the buffer flow speeds

I have just downloaded theWinPCSIGN demo and that locks up when trying to cut.

    my pc is a 3ghz P4 2gb ram Win xp pro sp2.

I believe it may be down to the firmware revision?

All the other sign softwares seem to work on revision 4.119

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also use a p-cut 630 with no problems, what software did you get with the machine?. I use either Artcut 2006 or Signgo, they both work a treat.

I have a USB P630, which seems to like being either COM4 or COM6. But works a treat.

If you are using a Serial Connection to the plotter, then check that the Serial Port is enabled in the BIOS of the PC (reboot and press, DEL, F1, F2. It will display on the screen).

Also worth checking in the System Properties (right click on My Computer and select properties), goto Hardware tab and select Device Manager.

Check in the Ports (COM & LPT) to see if there are any other COM ports available for use.

    Cheers

I sometimes have problems getting my PCUT630 to respond too, but I think I have localised the problem to there being a conflict on the usb connection on my comp.

If I connect anything else to the regular slot that i usually plug my cutter into, then the next time I plug in my cutter and try to use it it just fails to respond even though it recognises that the hardware is there, usually when this happens i just uninstall the serial converter driver and re-install from scratch and this ususally helps.

I always set my cutter to COM 2 in the system control panel, it works for me!
