  • why wont PCUT 630 + SignBlazer not cut big graphic?

    Hi,

Using the freebie software I received with my PCUT 630 I can cut small / simple graphics no problem at all but when I attempt something with a lot of detail it seems to get so far along then gives up, drops the blade into the vinyl and spews out the rest of the roll (leaving a nice cut down the centre).

I’ve tried a complete system restart with no other programs running and it still exhibits the same behaviour.

Any ideas on this one folks?

    Thanks.

    Hi

I have a similar issue I have a PCUT minicut that I bought to do t-shirts with. I’m using the Artcut 2005 software that came with it. On desgns with a lot of text it seems to give up and just drag the blade off the vinyl. Also I cannot see how to set edges for the design, sometimes the cutter hits the stopers on the minicut and the job stops. Any help anyone? Is there better software I can use? I believe the Pcut Minicut is the same as the secabo mini and the frogger models. I have been told to use the PCUT630 driver, is there an issue with this driver??

Thanks as always for any help

I find that this does this alot when using the manager section of the software, what I tend to do is turn this off and then the cutting runs realtime rather than in the computers memory.

It may tie up ur computer for a while but if you time your tea breaks right it dosn’t really matter anyway lol!

although I have not yet tried any other software to directly cut from, I always export to .plt file and use PLT Draw which came with my Pcut to act as a "production manager" and will get on with the job nicely.

This also allows me to carry on working in Corel / Flexi while it carries on cutting – without putting a strain on the PC’s resources.

I had similar problems with SignBlazer and my U-cut machine, Try what Russ said and turn off the plot manager. also have you downloaded the latest version of the software, and sometime I find that stretching the blue tile box out a bit rather than using the auto tile option helps.

Are you running it on a serial port? if you are it sounds like the flow control isn’t set correctly in the port setup.

No it’s one of the new ones with built in USB to serial. In the serial config the flow control is set to hardware.
