It slips that bad now it does’nt go all the way across.
At first i thought it was getting stuck….but now i no
it is slipping……i can see a belt, what moves it…
any ideas anyone….i can’t be the only one around
with a roland pnc900….i have had mine for nearly 15 years.
they all might start to get the same problems soon…
once again, any help would be great…
thanks johnny ……..this will be a nice suprise for my customers
    in the morning.

John, Call Combined Technical Services is Brisbane, ask for Chris. He is the Roland whizz. He’ll probably tell you over the phone if you can fix it yourself.

Had him out to service my Roland last year. Quiet a nice bloke.

    Cheers
    Shane (Logan City)

it is a stepper motor most likely. When they fail, they can lose their reference point, giving some weird results

id put my money on the allen stud that holds the carriage to the cable.

they work lood=se after a while and that causes the slipping.

remove cover over blade holder, tighten allen stud and make sure star washer is on.

    should do it.

    what the..
…BRAND NEW CLUES to my problem.
turned on my cutter….(not the way peter does…i heard he can turn anything on.) anyway, the knife carrage went half way across and stopped
as always,…….but this time, i left it turned on. walked away like a big tease……..went back in 2 hours…….the cutter seemed to have warmed up……..and it is as free as peter is……moves backward and forewards
    like a dream.
do you think i am going to turn it off ….NO WAY.
HOW many days do you think i can leave it on for…..without turning anything off.
    may be a week..maybe a day.
i dont no this new problem…….geeeee.
