why does an AI document open up blank after being sent?
I’m using Corel x3 and I have sent a few AI’s to the site here and others, however when the recipient opens them there is nothing there…..any ideas why that is? I haven’t changed any settings that I’m aware of.

Harry,
think have had similar problems in the past. Make sure that whatever you want to save is in the artboard/box (i.e if you set up file size as A4 – it is that box you see I am referring to) of Corel – if done outside, it will only include the empty space.
Think EPS files avoid this problem.

I have never had this problem with X3. I export all the time with stuff on and off the page and it seems to work fine. I tend to export as ai ver 6, text as curves and none of the tick boxes ticked in the export settings.

Stuff which is off the page can get ‘moved’ to the desktop layer and this is non printable by default so may not export so check the layer and either move or make printable.
