why do i get cyan print smearing problem with JV3-160S?
happy new year everyone,
this is my first ever post. our shop has a 4 years old mimaki JV3-160s. it is our work horse for most of our printing jobs. we also have onyx productionhouse v.7 but running 6.5 at the moment.
regular maintenance were done to wiper, and ink caps daily. we soak the print head 10 min every morning (Triangle Bulk Ink system) to loosen up any clogs overnight and do a dishwash the end of the shift before turning off the printer.
we recently experience slight light cyan ONLY smearing to the left margin (each time the print head return) and inside white text for the first 5 ft of the print and slowly fade away as the print went on. we use standard 8 pass bidirectional mode with heat at 45/45 degree. we increased the heat as high as 55 and it seems to work in getting rid of the smearing but don’t work very well to certain heat sensitive material. The problem don’t exists in Fine/16 pass mode.
anyone experience this strange phenomenon? the strange part is if the print head start to show its age, other colour might smudge as well right? but it’s just very light cyan. i wish i can attached a sample image to show you.
your help is greatly appreciated. thanks.
andrew
