why do i get an error message with cadet please?
Posted by Adrian Yeo on December 14, 2007 at 9:44 pmGot a cadet that is giving a ‘service call 104’ message when it first boots up.
Anyone ever had this before? 😥

not 100% sure cause i run a Soljet, but it may be that you have wound the capping station up too tight can’t remember the code that comes up on mine. Just wind it back 2 turns & try switching it on.Kev

Wouldn’t it make more sense if the error message just said
"you have wound the capping station up too tight" 😕 -
na sorry phill that would mean you wouldn’t have to call service.
its technical so they have to keep it technical 😉

Hi there, your error message means Cap Unit Protection Error.
Most likely a problem in the cap unit, maybe gummed up with ink and not reaching datum position. You may need an engineer but you could clean around the area and put some penetrating oil on the slides first. Then wind it up and down manually to make sure its free and getting all the way to the top. You wont hurt anything by trying, but if this doesn’t work you may need to call someone in.
Hope this helps you
