    Hi everybody
I’m looking once again for some advice. I am running corel draw7 with signscript and I’m using a flatbed scanner one of my problems is that I can’t export a scanned image to signscript.

My second problen is that I can’t get text to become arched or apply a block shadow, I have followed the help files (artistic text etc..) but still no joy, any help would be as usual greatly appreciated. I cannot wait for the day I post my first job on "SHOW US YOUR STUFF" or I am able to help and advise others, but until that day comes I thank you all for the help and advice so far.

    Cheers Boab
PS. If anyone ever wants a recipe for Pakora or low fat curry sauce then I’m your man.

Hi Boab, If you are running the Signscript program I use (from Leewood developments originally) then you can’t export any bitmaps to it because it is purely a vector driver program for the plotter. You will need to trace the scanned image either by hand or using Corel Trace before exporting the file as an EPS or AI into Signscript.
Regarding fitting text to an arch in Corel, you need to create a shape like an oval and then select the straight text line followed by the oval(or whatever) then click on “text”, “fit to path” and then you can adjust the position and offset of the text from the path using the toolbar that appears after. Hope that helps !
With your block shadow there was a good post a while back about how people create/assemble these in vinyl but I cant seem to find it now! Personally I take the original text, duplicate it and move it down and right (or where ever you want the shadow to go) then contour the original text with a little bit larger outline (maybe 1-3mm depending on the text size) then I break apart the contour group and weld the contour to the drop shadow. Does that make sense 😀
