just bought a mixture of 751 and 651 for a van i’m about to do,

    i bought a brown, 651-080, and the 751 equivelent, 751-080,

    same with the gold,

now surely, by using the same end number, you’d expect the colours to be a match on either range….?

nope ! close, but not a match !

luckily in this case, the 651 will be lower down, so the small difference in colour can be passed off as being in a different light !

but why have a matching number, across the ranges, when it doesnt match ?

I understand what you are on about Hugh, but what i don’t understand is why buy in 2 different qualities for the same van?

i would have thought that the colour change is down to the process of making the vinyl either cast or polymetric. You can also get slight variations in batch’s normally colour chips have a statement to the effect that they are a representation of the colours but slight variations maybe present with production rolls etc. And as John said why two versions on one van the cost difference between the two types is pennies unless you are using rolls of the stuff.

reason ? simple, my supplier (remember i aint uksb yet) lets me have 651 at £1.20 p mtr, 751c is £3.50 per mtr, no discount, at 3x the price, i only use 751 where it has to cross over recesses normally, and in an attempt to keep a fairly simple job, reasonably priced, i only used the 751c where it was needed.

when my supplier gives me a decent discount, or when i join uksb proper, then i’ll use 751c for just about everything,

but, for the big price diffeence, it’s not worth using it on a flat panel, when 651 is ample !

610 wide. i know i get a good deal on the 651, as far as i know, i get the ’50mtr roll price’ regardless of how many mtrs, i am fairly sure it was an unintentional mistake, which they just honour.

i dont think it would be fair to say they’d always do that price for a cash customer. uksg is a way ahead for me, especially on the 751c, i happy with the651 price so dont even bother looking around,

infact, i’d say they benefit by selling it to me at that, rather than the caatalogue price, i forget how many 5m’s here and there i’ve bought, just on a whim, to make a more worthwhile order for them. at full price i wouldnt be doing that, now of only they’d let me have 751 at a proper rate, they’d sell me more of that too !
