Why am I getting these results?
Posted by Karl Williams on 11 March 2009 at 23:20This is winding me up. I thought maybe the vinyl was rippling but no it isn’t. Really can’t work this out?

I can’t really see on the picks but is it the lines?
Hows your feed calibration… does it print the test ok?

Print tests fine Shane. It’s like wavey lines all over the place. Pics are crap from my phone.

so…. what was the answer….. I’m on the edge of me seat here 😮

I moved the printer earlier. It’s a bit cooler where it is at the moment. I noticed the vinyl was rippling as it went through the back so I put a fan heater on behind the printer which cured it. Only on very low though.

Just altered the head height to thin as well which also improves the print.

I was going to suggest the head height too.

hi karl,
are they purple lines? There was a thread about this the other day, cant remember the solution. I’ll try to find itDan

I remember that thread Dan thanks. When it’s happened in the past it’s only occurred between the pinch rollers. This was happening anywhere it liked.

I dont know why it happens, but it has happened to me a couple of times randomly, and on different medias? Strangely it hasnt happened after I cleaned my encoder strip – thinking about it??
regards
Dan
