  • Which vinyl cutter?

Hi, I decided to buy a new cutter. I have some experience in cutting because I work on Roland PNC 1100 and AnaGraph AE 70. I still have both of them, but old Roland is rather slow and with Ana I have parts problems, software only work under Win 98 etc. Now I am deciding between Roland GX 24 and Summa Cut D60 FX. I know, both of them have some good an some not so good features. Can somebody help me in making decision? 😕

i cant fault Roland or Graphtec. As well as Gerber from Spandex Ive been running These two makes of cutter for 18 years. Used various models, from 24inch, 48inch and 54inch wide versions of them. We just upgraded two cutters and in the end i opted for two 54inch wide Graphtecs with all the toys. In the end i got a better deal buying the Graphtecs. Anyway, can’t rate Roland or Graphtec high enough on their cutters. As for print and cut machines we went with a Roland there…

Summa, I don’t have any experience with this make but i do know of it to be very reputable also.

Thanx Robert. After I put my post I red much other posts with similar doubts as mine is and in fact I found the answer. In general which ever established make you choose you can not miss. The decision is often on price or service which supplier is offering in future exploitation of the machine. For print&cut we also have Roland VersaCamm SP 540 and still we have old PNC 1100 which work properly but slow, so probably decision will go to Roland. But for now, who knows?

The decision is made. We bought Summa. It is already installed and tomorrow first meters of vinyl will go through for real. Hope it will work good and without problems.
