which reflective should i use and what grade should it be?

Ade, I’m sure there was a post about this in the last week or so, might be an idea to try doing a search on the boards because I can’t remember the title.
Have you told them the possible damage that reflective will do and offered them a price with a normal vinyl under the reflective?

It depends really on their budget. reflective comes in at cheap to dearer than gold….
nikolite or similar is the bottom shelf going up to 3m and even more expensive stuff from hexis, if you opt for there dayglow range.

it is sometimes better to buy the reflective for the chevrons in precut rolls,
rather than cutting yourself, more expensive, but less hastle

I do remember stumbling across a site that did chevrons and the emergency honeycomb

if its a security firm i dont think they would need the honeycombe stuff or class 1/2 , LG range should do the job…. (chat.)

We use the 5R series from Allprint Supplies.

More expensive than the cheapies but well worth the extra. Much more flexible and we can do a lot with it in recesses.

just been onto allpoint they do not do the LG now they just stock the Nicklite
I am sure i’ve read somewhere the Nicklite is quite brittle??

I can get the Nicklite through europoint also!!

Just found Doro are doing the LG5000 reflec

The security company will be having Reflective for their logo and fluorescent red chevrons

I have used Nikalite from Europoint a few times and it seems good to me, although I’ve never tried any others. I had it on my car and also did a sign with blue and orange. It sticks like sh1t 😉

HI, I use a lot of reflective vinyl, for a number of different uses, and to me, Nikkalite seems to be the best for most work.

obviously if hexalite, reflexalite, or other prismatic type vinyls are required, then this won’t do, but for most work it’s very good.

i tried LG once, didn’t like it, also used to use another that vinyl corp used to sell, i forget the brand now.

nikkalite cuts nicely, weeds nicely, and isn’t too stiff, i’ve laid it into recesses (not heated… that won’t work!), around door edges, conforms real nice on small curves too.

Just don’t get MacTac. Have been using it recently and it tears like tissue paper and sticks to the vehicle immediately upon contact. Is also a nightmare to get off.

Ade, nicolite did use to be a bit brittle a few years ago. Some of the colours were worse than others but they changed it about 3 or 4 years ago and it is much better now.

all reflectives stick like the proverbial!!!! not often you get a chance to lift and start again!
