nothing to choose between them but for preference I personaly would go for the roland…..reason….. I teach signmaking at a college and we have two roland 24’s and they have survived the abuse of around 60 students over the last 5 years and never had a problem.

Could cunningly throw a spanner in the works now, have you thought of a Graphtec? 😀 I’ve had one running like a bat out of hell for 6 months now and for the past 2 months along side a Roland, and I’d pick the Graphtec every time. Its fast, reliable and it even comes with a handy little knife for trimming vinyl 😀 I bought mine through the UKSG, I should imagine there will be a similar deal still going, might be worth badgering Robert and seeing how prices/specs compare 😀
Cheers, Dewi

Our Summa D60 has been hammered for 4 years and never had a problem, suppose its down to where you can get the best deal, cutters today are built to last, but i do know that Summa come with a 3 year on site warranty and have good after sales service.
Hope this helps -
Hi Paulo,
Just to say I agree with Dewi, Graphtec is my prefered plotter. I had a Roland for a couple of years, it was ok….. 😕 I upgraded to a Graphtec 4100-75 & I’ve had this plotter now for over 3 years.
The biggest problem with the Roland was the friction feed rollers, I couldn’t trust it over a 1.5 mts vinyl feed, the Graphtec has been known to run 5 mts without problems.Cheers, Steve

quote Aitor:Summa D-60 got USB.
Better for mac users.
The CE series Graphtec also has usb now, not sure about the Roland?
