• Which Cutter?

    hi i am a newbie and could do with some advice on a cutter i am looking at.

    i have looked at a Roland color camm pro PC60 is this a good cutter to start off with?

    also can i print onto canvas using this cutter plotter?

    quick reply… no not on canvas. you would be looking for an inkjet printer for that.

    to determin if your choice is good or bad. can you tell us what your main use for it will be?
    i.e. cut vinyl for vans and signs.
    digital prints for vehicles etc
    or small stickers, short run decals and the like..

    just some stuff for us to chew over in replying…

    i mainly will be targeting commercial customers as my good friend has contracts with lots of small to medium business, but also the modified car market so nice big graphics as i am into jap cars as well.

    i would say no to the pc60-pc600 then mate.
    buy yourself a good vinyl cutting plotter, if you can afford it, get wider than 610mm wide.
    the pc60 is not for large graphics. do not get me wrong, it is fully capable of doing them but will cost you more on ribbons to print something large than it would for you to buy it in from a trade supplier.
    cutting wise with this machine is limited, but again it does do the job.
    if you wanted it for smaller graphics, one offs, labels, stickers that kind of thing it is ideal & easy enough to get your head round.
