    Hi,

Can anybody recommend a good quality, easy to print canvas for using on our sp540v versacamm?

Getting asked a lot about these so am keen to sort something out. Also – I’m looking at russell and chapple for the stretcher bars as you can buy singles but can anybody recommend anyone else?

    Best wishes
    Andy

    hi andy,
I buy lcan from grafytp and print with generic banner profile and it comes out great on our sp-540. We used to have a different profile which I did a thread about on here, but when we upgraded versaworks it disappeared, i think its called artist matte canvas if you got it use it with lcan its fantastic.
watch jason’s tutorial on folding the corners and stretching round the bars and your away!!

    regards

I use the Lcan as well, prints great due to the coating on it but corners can crack when folded if the temp is to low.

Just make sure temperature in workshop is not cold and should not have any problems, done loads of them with lcan and that is only problem i have encountered with it and it is easily cured so I wouldn’t rule it out for that reason.

Workshop is generally around 16 degrees first thing in the morning then up to about 20 in the afternoon, that sound reasonable?

I got our last lot of bars from http://www.stretcherbars-uk.com/index.php

    Good prices and great service.

We just stock 4 different lengths of bar which gets us through most requirements.

    Cheers

I use the LCAN as well. Tried quite a few different canvas samples when I started getting in to them. The Lcan was head and shoulders above the rest for me. 😀

Never had problems with the cracking corners, but then its never cold where my set up is.
