I changed from the Oracol tape to conform and much prefer it. Apart from the extra cost that is. But it does lay much flatter and stays there too.

    Cheers

I bought 2 logs of perfectear from grafityp a while back, tears a little too easy when masking tape is pulled off it and seems to crease easy, but its ok once you get used to it, I also use oracal clear.

    Hi Gary,

have you tried it layed up for a period of time?

I have some here that has been rolled up since the end of June. Still absolutely fine. I do apply it with the eazytaper though which I think helps too.

For the price difference I`d get a roll in and try it.

    Cheers

I have just switched from perfect tear to Oracal tape. . I really like the fact the oracal stuff is quite stretchy when laying down over vinyl. .. seems to go down really flat. I remember last year having some stuff from victory as it was on offer, it was horrendous ! It Wouldn’t lift the cut vinyl from the backing paper, I ended up putting two logs in the bin.

Dave, should have put them in my bin, I use Victory’s Unitac paper application tape all the time and have no problems with it at all.

I also used Victory’s Unitac and also had problems with it, it was horrible. I now only use Oracal tape and find it really nice but only can compare to Unitac as haven’t used any others. I heard Conform was very nice and might try it in the near future just for a comparison.

    cheers

We usually use Conform, and have no problems with it. Tried an Avery one
today, and that was OK too.

R4075 used here too. Never really tried anything else because I’ve not had the need!

You’re all kidding right? I find conform horrendous. Too flimsy, glue isn’t pressure sensitive, creates static, loads of creases if trying to cover large areas of solid vinyl etc.

If Conform is the layflat stuff I found the same as Jon. It must be me as I have no problem with Unitac at all.

I currently use both Oracle paper and clear – I am happy with it, although graphics that have been layed up and left for a week tend to lift on edges from backing paper.

I also use the metamark clear now and again!!

I have a 100mm role of conform 4075 to try!!
