Hi mate I love the stuff, only now use the original as the tac 2 is to fast, only use it to help when using glass etch
tried a few like overlay etc etc but this I think is the best

For me …..water, a dab of Iso propanol alcohol and a spot of washing up liquid………..

only fairy cos its nice to my hands,
tried most of them still go back to soapy water -
i use ‘devils brew’ as its called in the states…1ltr spray gun with a wee blob of meths and the tinyest plop of washing-up liquid oh and the rest filled with water 😀

I use masking tape and a squeegee.:lol1:
I still cant see how wet fitting is viable considering how long it takes to dry sometimes. I never use the stuff but rapid tac seemed to be ok for a quick spray/evaporate type scenario -
In the rare event that I do a ‘wet’ application, I use Quick Stic from the States. Its distributed by Graphic Art Mart here.
As well as an application fluid, it is a cleaner as well. Makes windows sparkle.
Soapy water is a valid reason for the manufacturers to void a warranty claim here.
I claimed warranty on a job using 3M several years ago, and they asked if it was wet applied (which it was) and if I used soap or application fluid.
When I said app fluid, they said that if it was soap, they would immediately void the claim.
I’ve discussed this with most other reps and they say the same thing.
Not sure if its the same over there, but it may be worth considering…

Nik and John, what is the difference between a blob, a spot, a dab and a plop? I can’t find any of those on my list of standard measurement units.
Personally, I prefer a wicklebit.

Completely DRY….DRY…DRY….
FRESH AIR and a bit of practice wins hands down every time. 😉
IF you really MUST… Rapid Tac

I do have app fluid here, as I find it good for cleaning.
and also for some customers who want to self fit and are nervous about it, I just decant them some into a smaller spray bottle.
To be honest if you have everything taped up and in position, leveled and hinged etc, I would find it extremely difficult to get it to go wrong.
but its personal choice at the end of the day, a sign maker of 20 years by me fits absolutely everything wet, and his work is fine.
It must just take him a while longer to get to his next job :lol1: -
Soapy water for me an’ all.
Andy:
Blob – a globule of liquid; bubble.
Spot – a rounded mark or stain made by foreign matter.
Dab – a small moist lump or mass.
Plop – to fall with such a sound, the act of plopping.I particularly like the last one.

Dry for most things, Rapid Tac for window etch (large stuff) and for layering large vinyls. 😀
