Not doubting your word, but prices would be good to back the claim Peter?

JAG Sign Supplies will do magnets from £2.50 each.
I personally use the more expensive ones they have at £7.90. have about 10 in my box now and come in very handy.

    PIKEY Solution…..

Break open old hard drives pull out the magnets and cover with proper thick vinyl tape.

MDP supplies do the similar style as JAG for £5.95 a pair or £4.95 for 5 pairs plus.

Rob Cherwell price for the same mag as Jag, is £3.80each
jag sell them in pairs for £7.90 so Cherwell is cheaper for the same product by 30p

not a lot , but if you buy 10, a bit of a saving.
this is their "book" price, but ask nicely and they will better other quotes

I bought them from JAG but make sure you buy the ones with the handles rather than the circular ones. Much better grip.

    Nick.

thank you peter… reads better now.

so cheaper than JAG "like-for-like" on the "more expensive" handled magnets. not necessarily sell the cheapest vinyl magnets available…

i agree, handled ones are better Nick.
RHG do magnets as do Wm Smiths. i do not know the costs though…
best bet is to shop round all those listed, but ide stress on going with the handled ones.

Rob for Cheapest, add like for like, I was comparing all that had been mentioned before,

the "strongest" magnets that I have used from "sign" suppliers are the avery ones
but they have little knobs to pull at, the long handled ones are a bit weaker in strength, but more practical to us, apart from holding the vinyl in place, they are good for hanging tools on, "scissors masking tape etc,"

Peter, I think it’s the little knob ones that I have :lol1:

Might have something to get hold of but they’re weaker in strength 😀

All I said was I recommended the ones you could get a good firm grip of! Peter started the comparison thingy! 😮

Well I have both types, but prefer the ones with the longer handle, as Peter said, very handy to hang things off, the others are too short!

    😀

This is all getting a bit out of hand now :police:

I’m sure a lot of it is temperature dependant
(are we talking knobs or Nipples 😕 )

Longer handle ones aren’t good to use to create a center hinge. They get in the way.

I bought the avery ones from RHG they were £20 per pair, they have a very strong grip.

I wouldn’t trust them enough to use as a centre hinge anyway, masking tape for that job!

I bought 28mm diam. magnets from Staples for about £4.00 for 6. They work fine.
