where can i purchase vinyl racks from?
Posted by Adrian Neill on 2 January 2008 at 13:50We are looking at upgrading our facilities soon and was wondering were
we could purchase proper vinyl racks from ?We currently have the vinyl on metal racks in there boxes, but would like
something a lot better than this, and something that’s a bit better on ‘the eye’We do hold 1220mm & 1370mm, but really we need the racks for our
610mm vinyl.Adrian Neill replied 17 years, 12 months ago 9 Members · 11 Replies -

thanks Hugh !!
unfortunately i can’t open the first one as i don’t have access, but the
second one looks good. There doesn’t seem to be much on the market
that’s not way overpriced so we may have to invest in making some of
our own. -
Ady, I used shelving brackets. Dunno what their technical name is but I’ll post a pic in the morning. Works a treat and pretty cost effective. Got them from Screwfix for less than £150 and I reckon they hold about 100 rolls. Only useful if it’s 610 or less though.
I’ll post a pic tomorrow.
Nick.

Have a look at Ikea table legs, ideal for a line up the wall in a corner, only cost a couple of pounds each.
-
Another vote for table legs! Screw the plates on the wall and then screw the legs in.
-
Will those legs hold a full roll? I have a few spare Ikea legs here but thought they might not be strong enough to hold a roll?
I have the Vika style legs.

i guess that sort of thing may work on short 24inch rolls but i doubt they would last long if any time at all with a 48inch log of vinyl.
if the leg didnt begin to bend near to the wall where it is fixed, ide guess the leg would be pulled completely off the wall with the weight unless you used some good fixings into a stone wall or fixed directly into Timber strapping/beams about 3"x2" or 5"x2" thick.
To be honest, i think if were to go this route ide use (i think this is derek herons idea) but to screw the legs or as derek had, tin cans, to the floor. then he sat his rolls on-end over the cans and this stopped the rolls falling over. this way the table legs do nothing other than hold the vinyl in position. -
Hi
Europoint are selling a floor stand now, got the flyer through the post just before christmasKev
-
hi
just had this stand made pic in members portfolio
cost me £80 ideal for the larger full rolls of digital media
they lift straight off and have old ally scaffold poles to sit on
i am having one made for my ezy taper to sit on top off as the stand that came with it is a bit flimsy
all my other 610 rolls are on wall mounted racks as robs demo
and my part roll 1220 rolls are upright on the beanotin rack pat pendingDerek

we’re going to go down the ‘make it ourselves’ route.
