An old convection ordinary/oven will do , so long as it gets to 180 deg c , We use old stoves for this, like 10 or 20 quid.

Where can I get a heat press that softens strips of Perspex to make returns for built-ups? 🙂

    What are ‘returns for built-ups’, ? 😀

    Have to ask.

Rodney: Cheers mate, unfortunatley due to the conditions of the lease on my workshop I can’t use a gas cooker – but you got me thinking! I bought a portable electric hob from Argos for £30 and built an aluminium based oven around it. It works okay, but does get a bit too hot, so i have to turn it off and let it cool down for an hour. It will do until I can afford something a bit more sophisticated – I believe Awltech in Guildford do a purpose made oven.
    Thanks again…
    PS
James: the returns are the sides of the built up acrylic letter. They have to be heated and set around moulds to form the shapes – C’s and S’s being toughest and Ampersands being a nightmare! Don’t get me started on Old English!! 😛
