Hi Vicki
I would recommend one shot metallic gold which you can get from wrights of lymm, Handovers and Gold Leaf supplies. If you google them you will get their details! 😎

You may want to try a non-metallic gold like Imitation Gold 1-Shot, which is like a dull dark yellow-golden tone but can be very pretty on a sign.
There are some lovely gold paints here that are water bourne made by the Ronan company, the line is known as Aqua Leaf. They have rich metallic tones, but would be hard to letter with unless you used a synthetic brush (I think) as they have a "gummy" texture.
The imitation gold 1S will cover quite well without having to double coat or stir every thirty seconds like with the metallic colors. I have always preferred the color of metallic brass over metallic gold.
Love….Jill

When you choose a "Gold" paint, check the label to see if has bronze or brass powders in it……if it does, it will turn black pretty quickly outdoors. Clear coating will help for awhile.

thanks for the advice 😀
The first sign I’m doing, that needs to be done by next saturday is just for when they go on camp, it will be living in a shed most of the year, its the bigger one that is going to hang outside…I might have to find a quick solution for the small one…I told them when I started I had no work shop, & will this rain ever stop, the board is ready to be written now, which is the fun bit :lol1:

Thanks for all your help guys, in the end I just didn’t leave myself with enough time to go with the gold & went for cream instead, but I liked that more it looked traditional & modern at the same time…if that is even possible 😮 😀
