  • whats the easiiest way to layerup multi coloured logos?

Hi everyone, i know this is a stupid question but here is a logo i need to cut, and i was wondering ow you would all go about doing it. Would you cut out the different colours and put it together in the workshop, or would you cut the different colours out then build the logo up when you get to site. Its for an exhibition. I want to build it up in the workshop but how. If i try and use reg marks and stick it to the backing paper the text wont come off the application paper. Any comments on what you would do to this logo would help me loads.
    Cheers Dan

    I would build it onsite.
You are asking for airbubbles if you pre-assemble.
I’d also make sure to cut out extra pieces in case you goof something up (like I do)

I would build onsite too. Same reasons as Jill, but it would be much easier anyway.

If you use 3M 7725 material with the plastic back, you could use water to assemble.

If you do pre assemble, Start from the top colour and work down, that way you do not have to remove the application tape. You do have to make sure you have got the whole sign covered tho.

if you own a printer you can just print it all in one piece, go on site, apply and 5 minutes later you give your invoice and are done.

if you apply in the shop wich i only advice when your colours dont overlap
if they do you have a height diffirence in your vinyl (you get bubbles on the edge where your colors overlap) they can be fixed but are time consuming so costing you money.

if your colors dont overlap you need to put a border around your artwork wich you cut with every color, you apply the top layer to the one underneath, and so on…

I always build up in the shop, saves tme on site, and app tape.
looking at your design, the logo and text are differant elements, so no bubble problem (some people have bubbles with layers)
Rob has done a reg mark demo, but to nutshell you pick up a layer on app tape and lay it on the next. you dont remove the app tape from any layer, the app tape "collects" all the layers.

hope this makes a bit of sense
