whats the best way to fix an A4 size foamex board?

ye simple 2no. 2 inch screws, brown wall plugs and some screw caps, itll stay up till you want it down, simples!

they are called VK plugs
drill a 6mm hole through substrate and into the wall then just knock the plug in, I have also used them for fixing banners,

Easy Peasy.
just cut the head off, to leave the hole plugged, or pull them out with pincers.

I use them all the time they are a real timesaver and look neat be careful not to hammer them home to much or you will dimple the sign board even dibond

Thanks for the link Peter – I’ve rang Cherwells and now have a catalogue and price list.

Are these plastic nails for foamex only, due to weight restrictions, or would they be suitable for heavier stuff like large dibond/allubond signs.

They are pretty strong, I have used them for composite without problems.
If fixing an 8 x 4 sheet single handed, I drill the top centre hole in the wall and the composite, one of the vk plugs will support the weight while I drill the rest.
I cant guarantee it, but I have done it quite a few times.

Just make sure the holes in the masonary etc. are accurate, they do need good fit to work properly, old brick for instance, may give an oversize hole, when drilled
