I am looking to put the letters No Parking on the roller door of my unit. To prepare it is it best to just use warm soapy water to clean it? and do you apply it dry?. I’ve seen something called Rapidtac advertised. Im a complete newbie to this so if it is an obvious answer please don’t laugh :lol1:

    hi mate,

if the doors are galvanised, i usually use some panel wipe, or thinners, on one of those spongy pads that have a synthetic brillo pad on one side, give it a good scrub to clean the area to be applied to,

then i would use a pre-cleaner / app fluid for the final clean, dry again, then apply dry, if you do it wet, the edges where you slit it will not stick easily.

i buy a pre clean from either graphityp or my local sign supplies, both similar, and good. rapid tac is a good product, but overly expensive imho.

you can make a very basic solution, take an atomising spray bottle, fill with water, and add a drop (just a drop) of CHEAP washing up liquid, shake, and it’s done !

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the help. Did the No Parking sign on the roller door that I wanted and I am more than pleased with it. Doesn’t look like a total amateur did it! :lol1:

    Thanks Again
