In the city centre of Glasgow shops and pubs chain there A-boards to the outside of there premises to stop the council from taking them away but every few months the council come round with bolt cutters and take them

Our pub has been fined once for £2500 😮

Local authorities are getting more and more outrageous by the day!!

It’s time for civil disobedience to curb the ever encroaching autocratic rules imposed by our local councils who are supposed to serve us! They should go back to basics and ensure our bins are at least emptied once a week. (hot) (hot)

I think the step off the sidewalk is more dangerous to the blind than an A-Board 😕 Maybe we need to level out the world so there is nothing the blind will strip over 🙄

I think there are bigger issues that need sorting than people to waste time worrying about Advertising boards 😕

And to think we have to leave our dustbins out on the pavement for collection, double standards me thinks.

We do live in a ever increasing nanny state.

All I can say is ‘Clipboards’…..oh and B*ll*x………….nothing seems to be a surprise anymore in this country common sense has been lost years ago.

Signs being put up by councils take the P*SS……local council here complained to a trader about a string of A3 posters with a broken up message would distract Motorists.

Now surprise, surprise their cashing in on sponsored roundabouts.

Local planning Dept. can’t translate their own info & the playing field def. isn’t level.

Must resist the temptation to rant as I don’t have time to get the soap box out right now… (:)

I can understand the logic behind this but as has been said, the council ban one thing in the best intrest of some, but then introduce something else to line their own pockets. i.e. Lamp post illuminated signage, Bin Lorry advertising… etc

    http://www.streetbroadcast.com/

now on the lamp post illuminated signage that they have tons of around our area. will these be soon pulled back down "at tax payers expence" due to the "light polution" restrictions our trade is now being intrduced too? or will this be waved because it generates money for the government?

they said by us you have to buy a permit £150 for the year, they say they are trying to cut down on A-Boards due to safety reasons but if that was true they wouldn’t offer a permit to keep them.

    just another money making effort

Makes me sick this country really does tax tax tax
if the government and councils didn’t waste so much money they wouldn’t need to keep charging everyone for crap.
