  • what your hints and tips for joining two pieces of vinyl?

    Hi all

In the interests of improvement, I thought I’d ask what your hints and tips are for joining to pieces of vinyl.

I usually cut the stripe/text with a 5mm overlap then just lay it on. It’s not invisible but it doesn’t look bad.

Am I missing a trick here?

    Thanks
    Kenny 😀

An alternative would be to butt the joins, and then put a thin 5mm strip of vinyl on top. 😀

    quote Alistair Richards:

But that can sometimes ‘migrate’ crooked as the vinyl shrinks back (ALL PVC vinyl shrink slightly) & split / raise edges.

A 2 to 3mm overlap is my normal procedure – with the TOP section being over the bottom if the split is horizontal.
