Hi i’ve been wrapping cars about 4yrs, i have a little xperience, but i must get a license paper (u know what gives the paper:)) of best brands, you know like Avery, 3M, Arlon. Where can i get the courses?? I know the Avery courses are in Holland? correct me, if im wrong. What license paper is the most important ?? What license paper is the most respected in the industry? Greetings !!

Don’t know about Poland but most of the courses offered in the UK by manufacturers or suppliers give you nothing more than a certificate to say you have attended a course. There is no testing of any sort so you could be absolutely rubbish at wrapping but still have a certificate to show customers.
The only one I know of in the UK is the UKSG wrap assessment which actually tests individuals before awarding a qualification for vehicle wrapping.

Avery do a wrap course in holland so you can be a certified avery installer. I don’t know of any others but I guess 3M do them.

I think most manufacturers of wrap materials aren’t that keen on having certified wrappers as once they’re out in the big wide world it’s up to the individual on how they apply the graphics so they can potentially do a lot of damage to a manufacturers brand.

From what I can remember to be a certified avery wrapper you have to complete training and have your work approved every 12 months.

I think the majority of people that do it are so they can train others.

I’ve done a grafityp wrap course and an avery wrap course. Both were very different and both very useful. I’d keep doing them as you always learn something new.

Being approved by all of the top manufacturer courses is an advantage in as much as It will give you credibility as well as a better understanding of the media. However, being approved just means your approved in using their brand as a competent installer. It does not mean they are awarding you, and you now are capable of teaching folk how to install their or any brand of vinyl.
You will find that the Likes of 3M, Avery, Oracal etc have "Certified Tutors" not just installers and that’s not something you can just achieve easily, or available to all.
Being an approved installer of a brand of vinyl will also mean if you have a fail, your claim is going to be taken more serious than that if you were joe Bloggs, and that’s really how it should be…

The courses Martin speaks of is run by UK Sign Group throughout the UK and Ireland and it is an accreditation award to become an AVWT – Accredited Vinyl & Wrap Technician. This is an Independent award and will soon become an industry standard. It is also endorsed by some of the worlds leading manufacturers. UKSG does not sell vinyl, it is about raising the bar within the vinyl and wrap industry.
What we are doing has been embraced by almost every vinyl manufacturer worth talking about globally. I spoke with them all in person at Fespa over a 5 day period in London this year. more news on all this will follow soon… sorry but i cannot divulge much more at the moment.
