I have had a customer ask me to do a good few hundred t-shirts, My problem starts with what method should i use to do them.
These t’s need to be black, as the logo stands out great on the black
    according to the client.
I have all the stuff needed to do them with the Magic touch set up like wow 7.1, and the other stuff that you just laser print and heat (cant be bothered to go and find a pack to get the number sorry) But you will know the stuff i mean.
I do not have screen printing, so this would mean farming them out to a screen printer, the benefit being that I would not have to stand for hours doing the work myself. the downside, i would not get the same amount of return and of course the client would then in the future go directly to the screen printer for his promo shirts,,,,,,,,What would you do ?

    Thanks

Are you sure about your returns comparing screen print to WOW Steve? For that volume I wouldn’t think twice about farming it out. Your customer doesn’t need to know who you used and what price you negotiated per garment.

    I agree with Mark

Numbers under 50 I do myself via whatever method I use be it cut/print or transfer

But over that then I just sub it to a screen printer and have it back in the same time it takes me to do it myself but without the problems leaving me to do other work

Different if I had nothing on then i’d maybe tackle jobs upto 100 garments

Is there nobody that can make screen printed transfers for you? Especially as you are going to use WOW paper. The cost will be similar or cheaper . If you cant find someone in the UK then PM me and I will give you the email of 2 companies over here that can do the job at a very good price. (they speak english too).

    Target transfers make plastisol transfers.

How many colours is the logo. If 1 or 2 I would definitely farm it out. The customer need not know this as a decent trade printer for these would be discreet and should even send them with your paperwork if required. A few hundred shorts with 1 colour print will be about mid fifties plus vat with £18 set up.

    quote Gordon Galloway:

    Target transfers make plastisol transfers.

Target transfers don’t do them personally they put you in touch with someone in your area… the person they put me in touch with last time lost m e the job as they were "messing me about" with different pricing on the same job…. long story but I won’t go into it

Target have printed for us several times before and we’ve had no problems. We have one customer that we order 500 transfers at a time for and then they order the garments about 50 at a time over the year.

    I would personally recommend them.

Don’t get me wrong TT are always very helpful in many ways but like I said sadly they pass the work over to someone local and the guys they passed me too in Glasgow just seems disinterested in actually doing good and helping me

    I waited over 2 weeks for a quote 😮

That’s strange as we have dealt with them quite a few times over the last 5 years and they’ve always given us instant quotes and never passed us on to anyone else.

I don’t know if they print in-house or pass it on to someone else – I always just assumed they did the printing themselves.

All I can is that we have always been pleased with their service.

I have TT to be very good as well. Always have received items direct and haven’t been aware of third party involvement?
