  • what way can i get an eps. into a vector format?

    Hi Peoples 😀

    i have been sent a logo (illistration not photo) from a printer thats a .eps file but i dont think its a vector becouse its all in one layer when i import it into coral draw…

    is there a way to to get it into a vector format? it has 3 layers of colour, but thay all seem to be on the same layer???

    any ideas?

    i correct myself…

    Illustrator read the file correctly.

    I’ve just imported it successfully into Corel 9. Use the Postscript Interpreted filter.

    Corel didn’t read it well enough.. but I would have just edited the layers to get it right, the vector data was there…

    I opened it in Illustrator CS and saved as PDF.. Opened PDF in Corel 12.. bingo.

    The printers gave u the file in Adobe CS EPS format..

    The other thing.. if you was trying to Import the File into Corel… it defaults as “EPS Ecapusalted Format”, which will just put a ‘thumbnail/lo-res’ placement file in corel… you have to change the filter to ‘Postscript Interperted.’

    Update: Note the butterfly andy. it was all solid purple.. as it is not.

    thanks dave, i just tryed it and it works BUT my coral 12 shows it as black also, so as you said must be a bug???

    I just tried it with Corel 12 import it as Postscript interpreted and works fine?

    Corel 11 no problems
