    85% oracal

5% MD5 & other digital films (but normally only if i cant source my digital from europoint in the time scale i need)

10% mixed, this goes between, speciality films, reflectives etc
again, normally if i cant source from europoint.

i rate mactac, ide be a hypocrit if i didnt… used it for many years.
there are many good vinyls on the market. Always buy the “best” you can afford, regardless the job. never go on just price, it will come back and bite you on the bum some day. trust me on that 😉

my answer is based purely on what i use today and used allot of in the past.

    I ended up with 110%. 😕
I actually don’t really use anything else but the 3m and Aspire. We have a roll of dry erase that is Avery, but that’s about it. Now that we have the VersaCAMM though we are getting different suppliers/materials so this list will change.

ahh right got you mate… sorry… thought you werent mentioning something thinking you couldnt? 😳
we are same… when a new machine comes in, it opens many new doors for trial and error media… a frustrating time if nothing else. 😕
3M is always a good make of whatever mate… good choice. if nothing else a very reputable supplier.

not wanting to hijack this thread, but how are you finding the versacamm? venturing into the digital print world really makes your business make a turn for the better. (lots of headaches, but doors do open) 😉

The VersaCAMM has been great so far. Really easy to use.
We are trying out different materials/profiles.
I’ve been really busy at work so have not been able to mess around with it as much as I would like, it should be less busy in a couple of weeks though.
Speaking of materials, has anyone use Ferrari banner material? Our plastic supplier brought down a sample. I guess it is pretty expensive but it’s not supposed to curl on the corners at all. Curious to see if anyone has ever used it or heard of it.
It’s not supported for the Versacamm, but with the new Eco-sol Max inks my supplier thinks it will be just fine. We’ll see.

I must admit im i too am 100% oracal but i have been toying with the idea of metamark so in a way at the min it is oracal vs meta looking into it

    We’re approx 80% Metamark, can’t fault them, 10% Hexis and 10% Grafityp.

I am however looking at APA for occasional bits as they have some different colours plus they do a great range of banner colours and are the only company I know that supply curtain side vinyl.

i have used all types from
oracal, rimark, multifix , metamark, 3m and avery
keep going back to the avery
used to use avery 600 but since they changed it supposedly to the better i have now moved to avery 700 series. great allround vinyl means you only need one type of stock.

    99% avery for cast
Used to use avery for cheap calendered but now that my supplier
has metamark e series, which has a great range of colours, thats my ticket.
And it’s cheaper than cheap avery.

Years ago I loved 3m but when they brought out that synthetic backing paper hated cutting the stuff up on the bench and was snapping of blades every 2 seconds so never went back to it..

90% Metamark – weeds perfectly every time, love it. The other 10% made up from 3M and Mactac.
I’ve tried Oracal but it’s not for me 😕 , doesn’t weed well compared to Metamark, but I can’t complain about applying it, it goes on well.

    50/50 Oracle and Mactac 9800.

Tried others 3m Metamark etc, I liked the Metamark as it does weed very easily.

I use Gerber (3M) white HP,
Calon II HP for black & colors,
and Oracal 651 for short-term stuff.
I’ve also tried their 541, even cheaper.
The Oracal cast HP is nice too.
I wish I could post photos right here.
I’d show you a van I did in Avery that shrunk ½” in one year.
Just had the fun job of removing/replacing it.
It was the A8 HP series.
My supplier won’t carry the stuff anymore.
Thankfully they also dropped their MacTac line….
that stuff was like weeding candy wrappers.
    Love….Jill

    I use:

Neschen HP Cast and their Pro Gloss Line of Calendered Intermediate
    FDC Cast and Calendered (2100 / 4200)
    3M Cast
    Neschen and 3M reflective

No longer use Avery, I’ve Re-done 6 Trucks/Vans in the last year, still have 4 more to do and although I was promised reimbursment.. haven’t seen a dime yet.

    I use (nowadays)

    85 % Oracle 751c
15 % Grafityp for temporary jobs etc

Used to use the Grafityp 200-300 range all the time but once I ordered the Oracle 751c I had to make the change…Its excellent, Still trying to get the hang of putting It on Dry though (for big letters etc).

    Regards

    Hi all,

I’ve never used Oracle, but I hear a lot about it on here. Whats it like to work with, where can I get it and how much a metre is it?

Marcella I am suprised you say that about Metamark/Oracal, as I use Oracal 751 95% of the time and got some samples of Metamark to try, I found it very brittle in texture in comparison and had to up the force on my cutter to get it to weed ok. Still find Oracal 751c the best all rounder, but use Mactac 9800 on occasion for their colour range.

    Cheers

100% Spandex Avery (700 to 900 series) and ImagePerfect for dig.

    cut vinyl: multifix 7900 series
    gerber edge: image perfect
    digital white: multifix 6500 series

we have standerised all our vinyls, cut vinyl is one series, short or long term doesn’t matter, the same with our digital white and edge rolls.

we decided this after cleaning the storage room and finding out we had 4 yellow’s all the same colour all different series and brands
