  • what type of vinyl is best for a back lit sign?

    Can any one tell me what type of vinyl is best for a back lit sign .

    its the type you tension the vinyl over it and can i use vinyl to letter it if so what type is best.

    the sign is 19ft x 3ft,

    From what you have said I think you are talking about a flex face lightbox.
    If this is the case the only suitable vinyl is flex face vinyl which is a special sort of vinyl/canvas for flex face systems.

    We use Vuflex products, FR5200 is a fire retardent backlit pvc for digital at around £2 per sq mtr. Trouble you’ll have is getting the amount you need for the sign as normally you’ll have to buy a roll @ 50m. I think some suppliers will do smaller amounts but I’m not sure as we always buy in bulk. For applying vinyl graphics to PVC we have used the MacSoft range from Amari in the past. If you struggle to get hold of a set amount post back with your number and I’ll send you the amount you need.

    We used to make KFC flex’s. What is PVC is that a type of flex?
