    Hello

Right, I have a demo of Corel X4 installed, I have a Creation Pcut with winpcsign which is great for doing basic text and shapes but if I want to try anything a little bit more complex or make a basic image ‘cutable’ then I am at a bit of a loss, hence the want/need to start using Corel

Is it the power trace function I need to learn first to make an image in to a vector that I can then cut?

I am quite good at figuring things out I just wanted a shove in the right direction.

Also if there are any ‘essentials’ that I should learn in Corel I would appreciate a point in the right direction there as well.

Sorry for the really newbie ish question, we all had to start somewhere though 😳

    Many thanks

    Matt

    Hi Matt

To be honest I would get into node editing first and foremost, IE using your bezier tool to draw and your node editing tool to tweak.
I find that, although the trace bitmap feature is very clever, that in most cases I completely redraw the logo as a vector.
Indeed if all I am doing is to cut out a bitmap I will often trace the outline and covert to a cutline rather than redraw the whole thing.

If in doubt give post an example of the kind of thing that you want to do and I’d be happy to take a look.

    Tim
