  • What to do with empty ink cartridges?

Posted by John Dorling on 6 June 2011 at 10:57

    Hi

I’m sure I’ve seen a post about this but can’t find it. I have lots of empty cartridges and was wondering if there is any alternative to binning them?

Pretty sure we sent our last batch to http://www.mtcartridge.co.uk/

Only took 440ml cartridges at the time though.

    Cheers

£1 for a cartridge that cost over £80………..? I didn’t see a black mask and 3 cornered hat anywhere on that web site!

You are paying too much for your ink Mo & £1 for something that we used to throw away is not bad in my eyes 😉

With the JV33 we get one free cart for every 45 empty ones.

Oh well since you put it like that….. However as an example, I get 200ml refils for my epson large format carts and it costs me £18 a bottle….. But to buy those carts full with the same ink and recycled carts costs £40 each!

Gary, you can get gen carts for less than £80 inc? we are talking 440’s here. Let me know where I can get them for less than that and I’m sold!

When you say £80 inc what is that including?

Here is a recent link regarding prices any way. http://www.uksignboards.com/viewtopic.p … highlight=

Hi guys, I see there is a the facility to recycle the cartridges in the UK.

Does anyone know if there is any similar facility in Ireland?

I must have about 50 cartridges at the moment to get rid of.

Check with your ink supplier/manufacturer Neil as some have their own recycling schemes.

I get mine from Robert Horne but they have nothing over here. I know Roland UK do have a program and I was told I could take them to their offices here, but when speaking to one of their engineers, they did not know anything about it.
