can you tell us why you want to know? do you have a particular reason?
how sticky it is depends on what you are applying it to..Lynn

Hi Lynn!
I will be applying this to go karts. I have priced up convex but its just too expensive. -
Johnny, thats why convex is expensive, it does the job, I believe Print one are now the agents for convex or a similar vinyl, it may be worth contacting them.
I have tried quite a few different vinyls on off road/ dirt bikes.
even stuff from spandex, that is supposed to stick to polyprop barrels without success, I don’t believe there is a cheap alternative, if there was it would be a closely guarded secret 😀The polyprop is always leaching out silicones, which detach most vinyl adhesives in a short time

Hi Peter!
I already buy my convex from Print one but the Karts i am applying to are for public hire and will get a battering! I dont really want to spend nearly £700 on a convex vinyl and roll of laminate just for somebody to abuse. See what i mean? -
I wish you luck in the search for an alternative, let us know if you find one.
If the carts are for public hire, then the owners will appreciate buying the best as the most cost effective way.
anything that takes a battering, day in, day out is not cheap. I bet the carts they use are not cheap, so with the decals it should be fit and forget,

if its just going onto flattish panels just print on to a standard low cost vinyl which will be 70-75micron and laminate with a budget clear vinyl. Some of these use a cheaper glue which is quite strong just make sure you clean the panels well especially if its plastic panels. Won’t be up to convex standards but will be cheap enough to change frequentlyKev

John, this question has been asked a few times over the last couple of years and each time the answer was the same, there doesn’t appear to be a suitable alternative to convex. you either have to bite the bullet and pay the extra or use a cheaper material and be prepared to replace them on a regular basis.

I use to race go karts in australia and I was asked to make some pannels for a go kart company. Im really not sure what is being used I was looking to use a floor laminate but only problem was vinyl to print onto. I was thinking of printing onto paper putting some 3m double sided tap on the back then laminating? probly still wont work. Might be worth getting onto a gokart website to find out bit more, I would say for the cost of doing the job it might not be worth you gettting into? you will have to work out a template so that its as flat as it can be, other thing to do is just get 100 of them printed and they can replace them as they need too? could be an on going job for you.
