  • What Software to use?

Hi Ive just got a new graphtec CE5000-60 and it came with ROBO master -pro software but I wouldn’t be pleased with it as when it cuts the outline of an image it wont cut the lines the same. They come out all crooked. Any software recommendation’s would be great.

    Conor,
can you explain a little more?
not sure what you mean by lines all crooked?

what is the image in question, is it a vector? and is it just the one image that is a problem or all the files you are cutting?

it sounds more like either a mechanical fault, or a setting rather than the software

Have you been in touch with Graphtec about this at all. It might be that they have sent the wrong software with the package, just had a look at the graphtec website and the software would only appear to support the craft robo

The software came with the installation cd so it has to be the correct one.

A plotter pretty much does what its told to do within its set parameters.

Is the machine set up correctly
Is the graphic good quality and is in vector format
Can you see all the cut lines (remove fills and highlight all lines, white coloured line may not be visible, but will be cut).

    Basically more info needed

Should that not be Cutting Master Pro Conor? I think mine shipped with Robo Master on the disc as well. As far as I can remember I had to manually select Cutting Master from the disc.
And I would ask the same question as Peter…what is the image you are trying to cut…bitmap or vector?

Cutting Master runs GPGL – Your Graphtec may be set to HPGL so you may need to change that on your cutter.

have you checked that you have your blade offset at the correct value as this will also cause your cut lines to be crooked/ wavy.

This is an example. the machine is cutting all lettering ok so im guessing its the software. On The crown for example it wont cut it out the same. any straight lines will come out curvy

Sorry to sound blunt, but do you know the difference between a bitmap and a vector?

If this is a vector file can you post it as an ai, eps or pdf and some one here can have a closer look for you….

Sorry if I’m not explaining myself properly. it wont cut the exact lines in the image it makes them all squiggly

    Hi M8

Maybe you should try and edit and remove some of the vector nodes in the vector image.

or you could upload the vector so we could see the problem, not just upload Bmp/Jpg
