hi chris
winpcsign, as you have already mentioned (is the version you got the same as the downloadable version?? you have to keep hitting ‘continue’ whilst its cutting?’signblazer works ok – not as precise visually (on screen) as winpcsign but only £50.
i have a couple of other demo bits of software that i want to experiment with, however, my pcut is working and i dont want to mess around so much that i stop it from working!

Chris it really depends on your budget and what you want to be able to do that your current software doesn’t do. I am not familiar with the software you are using at the moment which makes it a bit awkward to comment. There does seem to be a lot of people using corel draw and I believe you can download a demo version so maybe that would be worth looking at and its a lot more affordable than something like flexi or signlab.

i use corel to do the designs etc. then export to .plt file.
I then use PLTDraw (crap but does the job) and import the file into this program which then does the cutting…. leaving me to work on more designs using Corel if need be.
Bit like having a Production Manager as you get with SignLab….. or is that in Flexi……I’ll get me coat! 🙄

I use WinPCSIGN Letter 2005 and have Flexi P-Cut Apprentice 7.5v5 Ill stick with WinPCSIGN Letter 2005 despite having to use .ai files from version 8. Flexi P-Cut Apprentice 7.5v5 is a pain to use and I keep misplacing the key. I might get WinPCSIGN Pro or signlab if I have lots of money to spend.
WinPCSIGN Letter 2005 works fine and does the job. -
sorry – i just realised that you have the serial connection, but my (in)experience is only with the usb

Hello Chris,
Your best bet is to try different software programs to see what suits you. Most offer free demos. Some such as us offer the full version to try “before you buy”. There are no limitations or anything like not being able to save files or not being able to export or not being able to cut and paste etc.MOD-EDIT

Thanks everyone I shall have to try and find the manufactures websites for the relevant software now 🙂

Chris, Signgo works very well with the P-cut, it’s fairly cheap and it has alot of cut options that the more expensive software has.
Download the demo here, http://www.signgo.com/
