  • What Settings for Cutting Sandblast Vinyl?

Posted by John Cooper on 13 November 2011 at 12:07

    Hi guys

I can’t remember the settings for cutting sandblast vinyl with the Graphtec CE5000-60. I recall it requires a 60deg blade.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

    John

    untick the enable driver functions

set the plotter to conditions 5 (or one you don’t use)
set condition to force 20 ish
    speed to 8
    quality 3
    offset to match the knife

if you have tangentel mode turn it on for that condition No.
    tangental mode 1
    overcut .3mm

then test cut and alter the pressure to suit
for low volume work does not have to be a 60 deg blade just corners may be a little sharper.

flaming CM2 getting in the way again

    Thanks Chris

The only reason we use the ‘enable driver functions’ is so we can ‘Save as’ and give the settings a meaningful name. Angie finds it easier if I setup these setting for the different types of materials we use.

I can’t remember the last time we used the cutter’s front panel settings. Maybe I’m missing some other functionality and need to acquaint myself with the hardware.

    Cheers
