Alan, if you are working with full colour graphics, and I assume that you are I would suggest that you go through something like micromart magazine and go for any system that is listed as ‘Graphics’ or ‘Games’. Go for an Athlon 64 processor as these are cheaper than the equivalent speed Intel processors and you will also have a system ready for the next release of Windows (64Bit) Go for a decent size hard drive of over 120GB as these are cheap enough these days. Memory is also very cheap and for my money the best upgrade to speed up your computer, Go for over 1GB as the operating system and any softaware you have running such as Corel will take up at least 512MB. The graphics card should be decent but not over the top, a 64MB card should be enough, just make sure that the graphics are not built into the motherboard as this will be shared memory and cut in to your main memory. Also go for a CD/DVD writer for backup purposes.
