I’m quite new to the signmaking game and have done a few cars and vans but now a customer (building trade) wants some small signs to put up outside jobs he is working on …similar to estate agents signs in size and quality…what material do you recommend for such a job and where can I get it from, they’ll need to be double sided I think and he sees them as being disposable…he’ll leave them behind when the job is done…price is obviously very important, I am keen to get it right 1st time as he also has four vans he wants done !!! any advice will be gratefully received Thanks in advance

the cheapest material you are looking for for ecternal work like this is called CORREX.
it comes in a few thicknesses, but estate agents use the 5mm thickness.
i would offer 5mm and 10mm, 10mm is that bit stiffer and stands up well to abuse long term. saying that the 5mm is prefectly accetable if its screwed to a wal or on a post, as a throw away.

you can buy it from many suppliers, the one i use is europoint display contacts under the paper co advert on the home page.

Rob is right but if your builder wants 50 or more (approx 2ft by 2ft) you can buy them screen printed in 1 or 2 colours to your artwork (also in shapes) for as little as approx £3 (including the boards)

I am at home just know and cant th remember the source but if you are interested give me an email at adrian@aemarketing.co.uk and I wll get theinfo for you
