  • what liquid to use when applying vinyl graphics

    Afternoon all….

    Just a quick question really.

I’d like to know what is the best kind of fluid, liquid or substance used to help apply vinyl graphics to either cars, vans or windows.

I used to be a window tinter and we used a small amount of johnsons baby shampoo. which was ok as long as you worked quickly withit to stop it staining the glass.

So id like to know is there something i can use, so that i can place the sticker or graphics on so that its all in place then may be heat it and squeege out the liquid.

    Does this make sence.

If so please let me know

or is there an easy way of apply with out this liquid.

    cheers again

heheh this debate of wet/dry runs on with loads of folk on the boards, dont let robert see you mention wet application he’l trip lol, i only did my 1st 2/3 jobs wet but found it a pain as it took so long to squegee all the water out but i just used water nothing init, everything i do now is dry application its so much faster to do i think you will find loads of topics on this subject when you do a search for wet/dry application aswell. 😉

    :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: and now that i have just spat my budweiser over my monitor laughing… ill agree with alan… :lol1: :lol1: 😉

Dry, in my honest opinion cannot be faulted. YES, its harder to apply and get perfect results but thats just because "like everything, there is a knack to it" wet application is great for getting things into place so much easier, but once it is there… all your problems begin!
    .

baby shampoo, fairy liquid in water and the like all work as inhouse cocktails.. all work well on completely flat surfaces. but in my opinion, they will reduce the adhesives life because once they dry out, they leave a residue.
as i said, completely flat surfaces are fine, probably regardless… but on vehicles and the like… ide do what i can to quickly steer my way away from this sort of application and do what i can to become a dry only applicator.

so what is my only recomendation of wet application fluid?
    Rapid Tac 2
