get a big 25 litre drum and keep it in that. once full… do what Kev says. you should only need to do this once a year.

probably a foolish thing to do but why would it be bad to flush down the loo/sink?

    Because it’s not nice.
Would you flush paint down the pot?
You could probably get fined for it, too.
    I mean big fines.

    quote Phillip Patterson:

Because waste water has to be treated…you know – the waste water that goes to a sewage plant…then the river. Sewage plants are designed to deal with organic waste, not haz-chem.

Besides the fact that if the environment agency catch you at it it’s liable to be a fine in the order of TENS of thousands of pounds for wilful disposal of hazardous waste…and they can by doing ‘upstream sampling’ it’s just not a nice thing to do.

Just do as suggested – big 25l drum and arrange for proper disposal.

As an aside – I was visiting one of our suppliers yesterday and they run several BIG print machines….their ink consumption & wastage is phenomenal. They empty the waste containers on their machines to the tune of 1000litres every 4 months or so (to a SEPA registered disposal agency).
They have a reasonable recycling program, even the dozens of empty ink bottles (25litres a pop) are recycled. Some amazing kit…

I do what Mr Drew has suggested in the past. Pour on kitty liter and then into our general rubbish once kitty litter absorbs all the ink.

I’m really lucky I have a screen printer next door to me, he has a big bin that he puts his old solvent cloths in, he lets me pour my 200ml of waste every month in there… job done

peter are you serious?? lol 😀

will probably go with the waste station and how about tipping in a carrirer bag of soil to absorb the ink and then dumping it in the bin??? kind of like what jason suggested but i dont have any cats. 😀
