hi just a quick question what is the best vinyl to use for number plates cus i am useing dry plates and sticky reflective so i have to cut the numbers and letters in mirror and stick them to the perspex. the problem seems to be the adhesive on the vinyl causing bubbles and shiny patches.

any ideas would be very much appreciated

    thanks Dazlad 😀

i reckon any black vinyl will do the job mate.
the adhesive shouldnt coz bubbles? 😕
shiney points? beats me mate.. you cac make lines appear were you have run your squeegee while applying but this is normal and seems to go away..

I just use Oracal 651 black, but I believe the matt stuff is easier to lay, haven’t tried it yet though 😕

I’ve noticed lots of little marks, lines and things like that when I make up a plate, but to be honest, no one ever looks that closely at them and they’re always happy. I think it’s a bit like when you use a pin to pop a bubble on your vinyl and you can see the diddy pin hole, bugs the life out of me, but doubt anyone else even notices 🙄

    Cheers, Dewi

thanks for all of your replies and i think your right i am being too critical. i tried Hexis matt black vinyl today and that was no better or worse than the techmark 3000 stuff.

    thanks Dazlad 😳
